- Use the control panel to run an existing model
To begin with, double click the Demo Disk shortcut. This is found in the Start Menu => Programs under “NL-SIM and MML”. Note: If when you first start up NL-SIM you get an error “__MMLLIB.CHN File not found” this is because you need write privileges in the nlsim folder. This can be solved by running as an Administrator, and then restarting NL-SIM. The Main menu and log window for NL-SIM will open.You are now ready to start your session. To get started, we’ve supplied a working model for you. The model is called demo-2nd_order. To load this model using a control panel, - Click on Display in the menu bar
- then click on Load Contol Panel
You will see the Library Chain window appear which allows you to select the specific Control Panel you want. - Click on SECOND, the name given to the control panel of a second order model in the library
- then click on OK, the Panel below will appear:
- Click on the LOAD button on the Panel
- To start the model, click on the RUN button. The response of the damped second-order system being driven by a square wave will begin to run. You will see the output waveform of this system appear on the Scope time plot window, as shown below:
